Medicine Wheel Teachings

Held every 1st Saturday of the Month from 1-4pm
First Class Starts August 2, 2008

The newly forming Snake Clan Medicine Wheel teachings will be taught by Roy Wilson (Grandfather) the Spiritual Leader and Storyteller of the Cowlitz tribe and Kyle Ward who will teach how to contact the spirit helpers of the medicine wheel by journeying to them to help you in every day ordinary life to ask for guidence, learning and assistance.

Roy is also a published author and a former minister. Currently there are 38+ active Clans of Roy's teachings across the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe with a gathering of the Clans at least once a year here in the PNW. We are truly honored that he has agreed to help us establish this new clan.
Please bring your drum and/or rattle, bottle of water, an open mind and heart to hear Roy and Kyle as they teach the medicine wheel while weaving the traditional Native American ways and beliefs with other cultures for a greater understanding of walking the

Red Road

with Creator.
A love offering placed in the basket would greatly be appreciated to help pay for Roy's teachings, time, travel expenses and space rental.

The Mt. St. Helens Club is southwest Washington’s oldest & favorite
outing club. Currently with 100 members & growing, the club
schedules hikes (almost) every Monday and (almost) every Saturday
year round. During the winter, hikes are often replaced by x-country
skiing & snowshoeing. Other outdoor activities include biking,
camping, canoeing and picnicking.

Monday hikes are Easy to Moderate: (3 to 7 miles & less than 1000 elevation)
Saturday hikes are Moderate to Difficult (5 to 12 miles & over 1000 elevation).

The Fire District 6 Board of Commissioners invite interested citizens to attend their board meeting, the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:30 PM at Castle Rock Fire Station #61 located at 146 A Street SW, Castle Rock, WA 98611. The Wahkiakum County Commissioners meet the first four Tuesdays of each month. Their meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until all business for the day is transacted. The public comment period is scheduled from 10:00 - 10:15 a.m. each Tuesday, unless noted otherwise on the board's agenda. The public is encouraged and welcome to attend.

Kalama Chamber of Commerc meets every2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in the Community Building in Kalama.

The Castle Rock School Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Generally speaking, community input is taken at approximately 6 p.m. However, anyone wanting to speak to the School Board may actually request a specific time between 5:30 and 8 pm by simply phoning the district office (501-2940) a day or two in advance. The board generally meets in room 217 of the middle school, 615 Front Avenue South.
